You might need wheel spacers, but I think it should fit if you don't mind some tire sticking out of the fender on each side. They may effect your ability to turn, so take a look at http://www.tirerack.com and see what they recommend for your car. Auto parts : Cold Air Intake Acura 1995 . Will an exhaust that is rattles against the heat shield cause the car to fail its MOT? Will an exhaust that is rattles against the heat shield cause the car to fail its MOT? Hello I fitted an after market exhaust to my car and it was a little bigger that then old one, hense it now rattles against the heat shield a bit when it first starts up and when its going down hill in gear. It has also punched a little hole in the heat shield, apart from the noise everything else is fine but will this cause it to fail it MOT?. The whole exhaust is new and nothing structurally wrong with it so could they fail it just because of the rattle? thanks for any responses car insurance. Auto parts : Contact Spring Dodge 2005. Ok I have a 1990 Toyota Camry V6 and I have never had any problems with it until recently. I have had an optima yellow top battery for about a year now and never had any problems. Hear recently I have went through 6 optima batterys because they kept dieing for some reason. We have checked the alternator every way that we could and it is ok. When the car is running it reads about 13.6 volts. When the car is off it reads about 12.2 volts. I can run my stereo all day with the car off and it still reads 12.2 volts but if I drive it for like a day or so it will slowly drop and the headlights dim and the battery light comes on and it won't start again. it will then read 10.1 volts when car is off and 12.4 volts when i jump it and let it run. I have had this problem for about a month now and still everyone thinks its my stereo or my alternator. I have had the stereo in the car since i bought it and I even tested it without the stereo and it still drains. I can leave the car off for weeks and it still starts right up. idk about the alternator all I know is that it is charging and enough to actually take the battery cables off and keep the car running. I really need help or im gonna have to sell the car and I really don't want to I love it because it is so reliable. Please someone help? car insurance. Plymouth . Troubleshooting a Car Sound SystemThe sound system in your car provides entertainment, whether you are on a long drive or simply drained from a difficult day at work. It is common for a few glitches to occur occasionally with sound systems. Unfortunately, this can affect the quality of the sound coming from it. Most times these issues can be easily fixed with a few troubleshooting techniques, saving you from having to pay for expensive repairs. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Step by Step : 1 Listen for unusual sounds, such as buzzing or humming, while driving. Install a 12-volt noise filter between the power source and the power input to eliminate this noise from the sound system. Sometimes the sound of the alternator or the engine will travel through the power connection. 2 Fix any distortion that may occur, when the volume is turned up, by replacing the amplifier. You could also add an amplifier instead of installing a new one. Distortion is usually caused by an amplifier with insufficient wattage that cannot accommodate the speakers. 3 Determine if the car sound system only picks up one station. Check and replace the antenna if this is the case. Also, check the antenna circuit. It may be necessary to rewire it in order to tune in to other stations. 4 Listen to the amplifier to see if it turns off frequently. Check the power ratings on your sound system to determine if they are compatible with the specifications of the amplifier. The sound system may be the problem if they are compatible. Tips & Warnings Add sound-deadening material to eliminate vibration or rattling while the bass is turned up. ResourcesBasicCarAudioElectronics: Audio Troubleshooting
Plymouth . How to Troubleshoot Car RadiatorsThe radiator is one of your car's essential components. Its purpose is to remove excess heat from the engine, as well as maintain the correct temperature while the car is operating. It is common for problems to occur due to wear and tear on the metal part of the radiator as the car gets older. Recognizing the early warning signs and troubleshooting them can prevent the need for expensive repairs. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need CoolantTroubleshooting Car Radiators Step by Step : 1 Turn off the car and allow the radiator to cool before opening the radiator cap. Check the coolant level to see if it is low or empty. Fill the radiator with coolant to the required level. Inspect the coolant level on a regular basis, as low coolant can cause damage to other components of the car. Get the leak fixed as soon as possible. 2 Look at the color of the coolant in the radiator to determine if the color is abnormal. If it has a rusty color, the radiator needs to be flushed completely and refilled with fresh coolant. If the problem persists, a radiant sealant may help to stop the leak. 3 Inspect the hoses that are connected to the the top and the bottom of the radiator for possible signs of leaking. Check to see if they are loosely attached. If they are, securely attached them to the radiator to prevent leaks. 4 Determine if your radiator is overheating. If the radiator is overheating, the first thing to check is the coolant level. Refill it with coolant, and if that doesn't fix the problem, the water pump or the thermostat may need to be repaired or replaced. Driving while the radiator is overheating can result in a blown head gasket. Tips & Warnings Perform a pressure test cooling system and the radiator cap to determine internal leaks. Flushing the radiator can help to prevent engine overheating. ResourcesRadiator.com: Radiator Problems? *work. 2 CA Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System Dealing urith shocks and struts Located near each wheel, shock absorbers do most of the work of protecting the passenger compartment from bumps. Chapter 11 provides details about shock absorbers that are worth reviewing before you read this section. Many vehicles are equipped with MacPherson strut suspension instead of conventional shocks. This simplified and improved system takes up less space and Is well worth having. The downside is that because MacPherson struts are surrounded by, and assembled with, the suspension springs, they're always under spring pressure and therefore must be replaced professionally. You may be taking your life in your hands if you tamper with them. (Chapter 11 has information and illustrations of MacPherson and other strut systems.) You can tell whether your vehicle needs new shock absorbers by leaning heavily on a fender or placing your weight on a bumper and then releasing it suddenly, watching to see whether the vehicle returns slowly to its original position. If it continues to bob up and down, you need new shocks. Another way is to stop fairly short. If your car dips up and down a couple of times before coming to rest, you need new shocks. Bad shock absorbers increase tire wear and can cause you to lose control of the steering if you go over bumps and dips at high speeds. If any of these things seems to be happening to you, have your shocks replaced. Although replacing standard shock absorbers isn't hard, the job can be brutal if you have to jack up your vehicle and crawl under it. Unless you can replace them under supervision on the lift at an auto class, I strongly recommend having a professional do it for you. To save money, buy the shocks yourself and pay a professional to install them. The store will know what type of suspension system your vehicle has and what kind of shocks it needs. Within limits, you do have a choice: "Heavyduty" shocks provide a slightly harder ride; other shocks may not do as well with the entire family and two Great Danes in the car, but give a softer ride. Some shocks even provide automatic level control for vehicles that carry loads ranging from very heavy to almost weightless. Suit yourself. Chapter 17 786
